In the famous Blue City, Jodhpur, as I was walking along the narrow cobblestoned streets one sunny morning, I came across this quaint old house on a street corner. What caught my eye was some cloth bundles heaped up near the door. I stood there puzzled for a moment, and then I realized, they were bundles of dirty laundry, left there for the laundryman, locally known as the dhobi, to take away and wash.
Jodhpur, also known as the Blue City, is the second largest city in the Indian state of Rajasthan. After its population crossed a million, it has been declared as the second "Metropolitan City" of Rajasthan. It was formerly the seat of a princely state of the same name, the capital of the kingdom known as Marwar. Jodhpur is a popular tourist destination, featuring many palaces, forts and temples, set in the stark landscape of the Thar Desert.

Hi, my name is Sue Jacobi. I have always been passionate about art. For the first time in my life, I am now able to dedicate quality time to this passion of mine, and since recently, I am happy to be a full-time artist. My favorite medium is soft pastels, and I love to paint bright, cheerful images that brighten up any room and bring a smile to people's faces.
